Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. She was the daughter of Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was an athlete of the highest level and discovered her love to sprint during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. At her first attempt she was ranked among the top two athletes at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships, for 200 meters in just 10 weeks. In 2003, Felix graduated from high school and signed a professional deal with the company that makes sports Adidas and then enrolled at the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by the 200m race in 22.18 secs. The youngest participant in the 200 meters at the World Championships that took place in Helsinki in the year 2005. She defended her title time and time again in 2007 beating her time-tested Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and has consistently ranked within the top three athletes at her particular events.
