Allyson Felix
Allyson Michael Felix the Los Angeles native born on November 18th, 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was aware that she was gifted for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. After just 10 weeks of her first race, Felix finished second in the 200 meters race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix signed a contract for a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003, and after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to study elementary education. Felix was presented with her first Olympic prize at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece. Felix ran 200m in 22.18s and set the new world junior record. The year 2005 was the time she was the youngest 200-meter world champion during the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007 beating her long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in her first Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo always finishing in the top three in all her races.
